Introduction

Many adults today are just now coming into a better understanding of their inner workings and how they perceive, act, and respond to the world around them. As a society, we're well aware of the rise in autism and ADHD rates in children. However, what if autism has existed for some time but has been brushed off as family quirks or simply "how someone is," in the past, instead?

Maybe you have quirky aunts or uncles who are hyperfocused on unique hobbies, or maybe they make endless lists to manage the meals they have at home. We might chuckle and think "ah, ole' Uncle is at it again," but what if they've never been properly evaluated? Maybe they didn't need to, due to high-functioning sensory processing disorders or the ability to find work they enjoyed (or tolerated) throughout most of their lives.

It's also worthy to note that many folks who are adults receive delayed diagnoses due to familial links. This means, you may be one of the first members of your entire family to become more self-aware of your habits, "quirks", or even behavioral patterns that have prevented you from reaching your full potential.

The Role of Neurodivergence and Trauma in Family Dynamics

Oftentimes, trauma-based behaviors are recognized quicker than the overlap of ADHD, Autism, and sensory-processing behaviors that can also contribute to your way of life. This guideline I've created came from a position of necessity. I hadn't realized that most of my shutting down and my inability to regulate my nervous system wasn't entirely based on PTSD/past trauma (although it certainly played a role). The more I began assessing my behavioral patterns and how I handled situations, the more I became self-aware of a potential missed diagnosis.

Personally, I'd gone through plenty of ups and downs with my physical health. Everyone in my corner (and in my doctors' offices), believed it was stress and trauma-related. Later, I received an autoimmune diagnosis for Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which I believed also played the biggest part in digestive and nervous system woes I'd experienced all through my 20s.

The Chakra System and Neurodivergence

As I began to see the correlation between my life as an adult and my family's history of neurodivergence (including tendencies toward ADHD and autism), I turned to the chakra system to better organize the tools and solutions that could help. The chakra system, based on seven key energy centers in the body, offers a unique framework to align with AI tools and strategies to manage neurodivergence.

Root Chakra (Red) - Grounding & Stability

The root chakra focuses on stability and grounding. Here are AI tools to help manage daily tasks while reducing overstimulation:
